Both the engine and transmission perform just as they should with no issue. ![]() Transferring the power to the rear end is the Thunderbirds Ford-o-matic 3-speed automatic transmission. This great Thunderbird is a factory 292 cubic inch V8 car and is currently powered by a replacement 292 cubic inch V8 (date code: 1959-1960). This Thunderbird's Black and Yellow vinyl interior is in very good condition as well with minimal age present. This gorgeous Thunderbird is a 2-top car and comes with its very nice Bright Yellow hardtop and Black canvas folding soft-top. The Bright Yellow exterior is in very good condition with few defects to note and is complimented nicely by its factory chrome and stainless trim, and a period-correct set of Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels wrapped in wide white wall tires. This 1955 Ford Thunderbird is a beautiful example of the first year model for the Ford Thunderbird and benefits from an older restoration that still presents very well. These 2-seater sports cars were an instant hit with the consumer market and it is easy to see why with their more luxurious interiors, sporty styling and powerful V8 engines.
